Shooting For Peace Event – Dallas at Lincoln High School

On April 29th, 2017 Lincoln high school was another stop on the Legends Shooting for Peace tour. The day was filled with joy and excitement as the Dallas Chapter NBRPA brought NBA alumni and WNBA players to encourage local youth from Dallas TX.  The event kicked off with a meet and greet with Jerome JYD Williams encouraging students to reach for their goals. This was followed by a celebrity game where the Legends put their undefeated record on the line.  Dallas Mavericks assistant coach and NBA legend Darrell Armstrong lead all scorers with 20 pts and powered the Legends to 61-60 victory. After the game, the poetry contest and panel discussion was underway. NBA Legend Morlon Wiley shared stories of his days growing up in Long Beach California while answering student questions. The poetry contestants were excited to receive Cash prizes, Under Armor gift bags and scholarships to Alabama State University totaling over $190,000.
