SPIRE Institute Host Shooting For Peace in Cleveland In 2022
The Basketball legends teamed up with the SPIRE institute during the 2022 NBA All-Star Weekend to put on an amazing Shooting For Peace event. The event consisted of the SPIRE basketball program and local students from the CLeveland surrounding areas. The students were able to converse with legends like Harlem Globetrotter Charles Choo Smith, NBA Hall of Famer Dikembe Mutombo, NBA Hall of Famer Mitch Ritchmond, NBA Ambassador Jerome JYD Williams, and many other impactful community activist such as the local Cleveland NBRPA chapter leaders. As one can see in the video, the event consisted of the students giving their thoughts on the Everfi powered digital education program and then getting to ask the celebrities any questions about like.
In addition, the athletes later took to the basketball courts and hosted an intense combine, powered by IPFAMBA. The sponsor wanted to educate students on how they maximize their name image and likeness, through the sport of basketball and at the same time offer them a platform to showcase their skills to college coaches. Throughout the on the court events, the students went through a series of test and drills to show them exactly where they match up relative the premiere athletes in the sport of basketball.
